On June 2, 2012 Malaysia’s leading daily newspaper, The New Straits Times, published an opinion piece by Dr. Foley on Saudi Arabia’s relations with the Soviet Union in the 1920s and 1930s. The piece drew on a speech that Dr. Foley delivered on June 1, 2012 to “Russia’s Orient: An International Conference.” The conference was held at the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon.
